Mehran Koranki, President & CEO of SMC Electronics Group, was born in June of 1960 in Abadan, Iran. He left Abadan for England in June 1977 to continue his education where he received his Higher National Diploma. In 1981 he enrolled in a BSC in Physics & Engineering at Lakehead University in Ontario, Canada. In 1985 he returned to England and began his career as a service engineer.
In 1987 he and two of his brothers formed SMC Electronics in Berkshire, England and went on to develop the company on an international scale. SMC Electronique in Le Vaudreuil, France was created in 1994, SMC Electronics USA in Oklahoma was created in 1997, and SMC Elektronik in Berlin, Germany was created in 2000. He is involved in international real estate investment, and owns both commercial and residential properties in the US, UK, Canada, France, Germany, and Iran.
In brief, Mr. Koranki has extensive experience in international travel and development and has spent a considerable amount of time doing business in Europe, South America, and the Middle East. During his career, he has been actively involved in the set-up, development, and operation of several successful business ventures.
In her role at with the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, Dr. Blanke works with chief academic officers around the state, with responsibilities related to academic offerings at each institution, Intensive English Programs around the state, and coordinating international activities in partnership with the Governor's International Team and the Oklahoma Department of Commerce. Currently, Dr. Blanke is working on statewide initiatives for expanding educational opportunities for health care students in nursing and allied health professions and the implementation of the ReachHigher program, Oklahoma's statewide degree completion initiative.
In prior positions at the State Regents, she worked with statewide academic policy and the Course Equivalency Project. Prior to working with the State Regents, Dr. Blanke worked in student services, specifically in residence life programs, at three state institutions. She earned her doctorate degree in Higher Education from Oklahoma State University.
Dr. Blanke is a Cameron University alumna with a Master of Science in Behavioral Sciences, and her Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education was granted by Oklahoma State University. She has accumulated over 20 years of working and teaching experiences in Oklahoma higher education institutions.
Jonathan Neff has practiced law in Tulsa since 1985, focusing on contract law, particularly in international trade, manufacturing and distribution, construction and real estate, business formation, and corporate and securities law. His practice includes both domestic and international business transactions, as well as state and federal litigation.
In the field of international law, in 1991, Mr. Neff organized the International Law Group at Crowe & Dunlevy, Oklahoma��™s largest law firm, and co-founded the International Law Section of the Oklahoma Bar Association. Since 1994, he has served on Oklahoma��™s Governor��™s International Team and the Oklahoma District Export Council. He has represented U.S. companies in business transactions in more than twenty countries and has represented many foreign clients in U.S. business transactions. He has served as an expert consultant to the United States District Court for the Northern District of Oklahoma with respect to foreign law issues, and has represented several foreign clients in commercial litigation in federal court.
Mr. Neff also represents companies engaged in manufacturing and distribution, construction and real estate, and other industries. Before entering law school in 1982, he was a general contractor in the construction industry. He has been a member of the Associated Builders and Contractors since 1978 and regularly represents construction firms in a variety of legal matters. He has also developed real estate and manages real estate and oil and gas holdings.
In the field of corporate law and finance, he has assisted a variety of clients obtain equity investment and debt financing and has completed corporate sales, mergers, acquisitions and private placements. His largest single securities transaction was a $45 million private placement of equity. He has served on Boards of Directors of four companies, including a large equipment manufacturer, a technology development company, a product distribution company, and a restaurant chain. He has managed real estate and construction companies as well as a law firm.
Mr. Neff attended Cornell University and the University of California at Santa Barbara, where he obtained a Baccalaureate Degree in 1974. He attended Oklahoma State University for graduate studies before graduating in 1984 from the University of Arkansas College of Law, where he served on the Arkansas Law Review and as President of the Student Bar Association.
Bob Lieser, a native Tulsan, serves as Vice President of Programming for the Tulsa Global Alliance (TGA). Mr. Lieser joined the TGA staff in 1998 and has organized professional programming for over 1,200 participants in US government exchange programs during his tenure at TGA, including the International Visitor Leadership Program Community Connections Program. Before his tenure at TGA, Mr. Lieser worked as an English as a Second Language teacher and refugee job counselor at the YWCA Intercultural Service Center in Tulsa, and as a Russian instructor at Tulsa Community College. Mr. Lieser received a Bachelor�™s degree in History and Russian Area Studies from Cornell University in 1992. He is Secretary of the Governor's International Team and Second Vice President of the United Nations Association of Eastern Oklahoma. He is a past president of the Friends of the Tulsa City-County Libraries and the Tulsa Association of Volunteer Administrators. He is also a member of Class 38 of Leadership Tulsa, an organization dedicated to education and training in civic engagement.
Mark A. Stansberry is Chairman of The GTD Group. He has been active in the energy industry for over thirty years. In addition, he has been involved in banking, real estate development, federal/international government relations and business ventures including movie productions. He served from 1975-76 on the staff of U. S. Senator Dewey F. Bartlett.
Mr. Stansberry currently serves on the Board of Directors of Quest Energy Partners, (QELP, NASDAQ-Global), serving as Chairman of the Conflicts Committee and member of the Audit and Nominations Committees. He serves on the governing nine-member Board of Regents of the Regional University System of Oklahoma, (RUSO). In 2001, he was appointed by Governor Frank Keating for a nine-year term. He served as Chairman of RUSO from 2006-07, and has served on the audit, building, strategic advancement, and presidential search committees for the six universities system which is comprised of over 40,000 students, 3000 faculty/staff, and a $300,000,000 annual budget.
Mr. Stansberry has testified before the U. S. Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee and other government entities. In 1991, Mr. Stansberry co-authored the energy handbook, The Acquisition Process and Due Diligence: Minimize Risk/Maximize Return! In 2008, he authored the book, The Braking Point: America's Energy Dreams and Global Economic Realties.
Mr. Stansberry is a 1977 graduate of Oklahoma Christian University, a graduate of the Fund for American Studies/Georgetown University-Institute on Economic and Political Systems, graduate of the Intermediate School of Banking, Oklahoma State University and graduate of the Commercial and Agricultural Lending School, University of Oklahoma.
In October, 2005, he completed The University of Texas Institute on Excellence in Corporate Governance, Compliance and Beyond: Effective Directors, and is a 2008 graduate of Directors College, Stanford University. In 2008, he completed the Great Ideas Conversation, Pepperdine University. He has completed energy and international institutes at the University of Texas at Arlington and other institutions.
He has served as an officer of other boards including Chairman of Oklahoma Governor'™s International Team, Chairman of the State Chamber of Oklahoma's Energy Council, Chairman and Founder of The International Energy Policy Conference, President of the The Energy Advocates, a national organization, and served as Chairman of the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma 1990-91, appointed by Governor Henry Bellmon.
His association memberships have included the Independent Petroleum Association of America, Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association, Texas Alliance, and Association of Petroleum Negotiators.
Mr. Stansberry has spoken nationally including speaking engagements in Washington, D.C., Dallas, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Wichita, and Kansas City. He has spoken on television, radio and has had numerous newspaper interviews. He has had articles published in trade journals and newspapers.
He has served on other boards including The Fund for American Studies, Washington, D.C., People to People International, Kansas City, Mo., OK-National Association of Royalty Owners, Oklahoma Heritage Association, Academy of Leadership and Liberty, and Oklahoma Christian University. In 1992, he was a member of a People to People oil and gas delegation to Russia. He led a People to People business delegation to P. R. China in 1994.
He has served on Oklahoma State University's Environmental Programs Board of Advisors, and Advisory Council of the Oklahoma Marginal Well Commission.
In 2008, Mr. Stansberry agreed to serve as a facilitator for ExporTech which focuses on expanding export opportunities for American manufacturing companies. He has international work experience in several countries including P. R. China, Czech Republic, Mexico, Bulgaria, and Russia. In 1997, he assisted in arranging a key meeting between U. S. Senator Lott and Prime Minister Klaus regarding the Czech Republic's entry into NATO. Under Mexico Trade Commissioner Carlos Bello, Mr. Stansberry served on the Advisory Committee for Mexico Trade and Tourism.
He has led fundraising efforts for non-profits and political campaigns. Presently, he serves as Co-Chairman along with General Tommy Franks for the Heart of America/Enterprise Square Campaign to raise $10 million. He has been a delegate to three national party conventions.
Mr. Stansberry and his wife, Nancy, of Edmond, Oklahoma are active in their church. They have been married for over thirty years and have three grown children along with one granddaughter.
