GOVERNOR'S INTERNATIONAL TEAM ANNOUNCES OFFICERS

Oklahoma City, OK -- Governor Brad Henry is scheduled to preside over the Governor's International Team's (GIT) gavel ceremony at the Oklahoma State Capitol in February. GIT 2007 Chairman Mark A. Stansberry from Edmond, OK announced the upcoming officers that will serve the 2008 term: Mehran Koranki – Chairman, Debbie Blanke – Vice Chairman, Jon Neff – Treasurer, and Bob Lieser – Acting Secretary. Phil Scoggin served as chairman of the nomination committee.

Stansberry stated that "It has been an honor to serve the State of Oklahoma and the GIT. I look forward to working with our new chairman, Mehran Koranki, and to continuing my support of GIT in its mission."

Four new members of the GIT have also been announced: Meg Salyer, Marta Morrow, Anita Gordy-Watkins, and Zach P. Messitte.

The purpose of the GIT is to assist and advise the Oklahoma Offices of the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Oklahoma Legislature, Oklahoma Department of Commerce-International Trade and Investment Division, with respect to international matters.

About GIT: The Governor's International Team is composed of 35 board members, comprised of business men and women, economic development practitioners, and educators with a common goal of increasing the awareness of international opportunities in the State of Oklahoma. The purpose of the Oklahoma Governor's International Team is to assist and advise the Oklahoma Offices of the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Oklahoma Legislature, Oklahoma Department of Commerce-International Trade and Investment Division, with respect to international matters.
